A newly released health-tracking tool demonstrates Harrisburg University of Science and Technology’s thought leadership in the effort to curb health inequities that exist within U.S. medicine.

The tool, which collects, analyzes, and reveals health inequity data, was created by the National Health Equity Task Force, which Geoffrey Roche, HU Executive Director of Strategic Healthcare Initiatives, was invited to serve on last year by the CDC Foundation and Morehouse School of Medicine’s Satcher Health Leadership Institute.

In a recent article, STAT news said:

“At its inception, the tracker used state-reported race and ethnicity data collected by the Atlantic’s Covid Tracking Project — a foundation-funded, volunteer-driven effort that, in the absence of a strong, public-facing federal data effort, became a de facto data authority after launching in March 2020; it started tracking race and ethnicity the next month.”
