If you’re looking for a college education that will set you up for success in today’s most in-demand science and technology fields, you belong at Harrisburg University.
We make it easy to transfer credits from a two-year or four-year institution. You can transfer a maximum of 87 credits into an undergraduate degree. Transfer students can even qualify to receive a variety of HU scholarships.
Transfer and Partnership Agreements
Our articulation agreements permit students enrolled in certain associate degree programs to transfer credits into specific Harrisburg University degree programs. We currently have an articulation agreement with the following institutions:
- Alvernia University
- Central Penn College
- Lackawanna College
- Penn State
- Rosement College
- St. Francis University
- UPMC School of Nursing
- Woz U Partnership
A consortium agreement with another institution of higher education allows a student to remain enrolled at the university while also taking credits at the visiting institution. The university has a consortium agreement for certain nanobiotechnology courses with The Pennsylvania State University – University Park Campus, and for certain computer science courses with Saint Francis University.
Liberal Credit Transfers
You can transfer up to 87 credits toward your bachelor’s degree from Harrisburg University. No more than 70 of these hours can be earned at a two-year institution.
Academic credit from other U.S. higher educational institutions for college-level work is awarded when:
- a final grade of “C” (not “C-”) or higher is earned;
- a course is a reasonable substitute of a University course;
- the course is a reasonable substitute for competencies associated with one of the general education requirements; and,
- the course is considered college-level work, worthy of elective credit in the student’s intended program of study and the student has sufficient unsatisfied elective credit requirements to which this course may be applied.
Students may transfer in a maximum of 87 credits or 70 credits from a two-year institution. Students must complete 33 credits in residence at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Students must earn a cumulative 2.00 GPA or higher in all coursework and must successfully complete all of the requirements of the declared program of study for which the degree is to be awarded.
