Nicole Reigelman Corporate Faculty (Project Management)

Nicole Reigelman is the Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), a position she has held since March 2015.

As the communications director, Nicole directs PDE’s Press and Communications Office, reporting directly to the Secretary and the Governor’s Communications Office. She spearheads the Department’s messaging strategy and collaborates with other departments on joint initiatives.  From 2015- 2018 she also served as the agency press secretary engaging with state, national and international media outlets daily.

Before joining the PDE team, Nicole was the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s director of Military and Veteran Affairs.  She also worked for the Pennsylvania state House for over 10 years in the Office of the Speaker, the Democratic Communications Office, and for the Democratic Policy Chairman. During her time with the Policy Committee, she developed and implemented a comprehensive media strategy that included direct mail, broadcast, print resources, and event planning. She also launched social media outreach to communicate key messages directly with the public.

In addition to her duties at the Department of Education, Nicole is a major in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, where she has served as an intel officer and a public affairs officer. In 2017, she was assigned to serve as public affairs officer for the 380thAir Expeditionary Wing, Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE.  She currently is assigned as the Joint Force Headquarters Public Affairs Officer – Air.

In 2018, Nicole joined the corporate faculty at Harrisburg University, where she continues to teach professional communications in the graduate school. Nicole earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from American University in Washington, DC, a master’s degree in social science from the University of Chicago, and a certificate in marketing strategy from Cornell University. She is also a graduate of the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, Maryland
